Personal Assistance Service
What we provide is a referral list of personal assistants who live in the DuPage County of Illinois. This is a list of individuals who are actively looking work assisting individuals with their daily living skills. What You should know. If you are a disabled consumer who is in need of a personal assistant to help you to be as independent as possible in your own home and you haven't applied for the Home Services Program at the DHS Office in Downers Grove, Illinois, you need to contact them at (630) 495 0500. You will go through a process to see if you qualify. Keep in mind, this program is for those who are 59 years of age and younger. If you do qualify, you will be given a certain amount of hours that you can hire a personal assistant. The State pays for the personal assistant's wages. Then they will refer you to this center. (DuPage Center). If you do not qualify, the other option is self pay. When you have qualified for the Home Service Program, or plan on doing self pay, call us at 630 469-2300. We had a successful PA Connection on January 18th, 2007 here at the DuPage CIL. Eight personal assistants came in and several of them have achieved employment status as a result of the PA Connection This is a quarterly event where we create the PA Connection by inviting our consumers who are looking to hire a personal assistant as well as personal assistants who are looking for employment. For those who are not able to come, can call in to let us know that he/she is interested in participating by phone. Our next PA connection will be Thursday, April 19th, 2007 from 2 to 3:30 pm. **NOTE: For Personal Assistants - to participate in the PA Connection, you must have already participated in the PA Orientation.
